When Anxiety Comes Out of Nowhere
Apr 16, 2025

Sometimes it feels like anxiety can just come out of nowhere for completely no reason.
Like you're just sitting there and bam! It hits you like a wave.
You’re completely on edge and it feels like something terrible is gonna happen.
You even have al of the physical sensations, too.
At least… if there was something wrong, you'd have something to focus on.
I mean, you could fix it, or you could do something about it.
But with this random anxiety you don't know what's wrong. You have no idea.
The only thing you “know” is that “something bad is gonna happen”.
But there is something that has really helped me with this, and I've been a lot better because of it.
It’s realising that you can feel this anxiety with nothing truly being wrong.
Knowing that that’s possible.
Accepting that fact and realizing that anxiety is not a fact.
It does not mean there’s something wrong.
It’s a feeling.
And that feeling isn’t the truth.
Because what I used to do when I’d feel this random anxiety…
I’d try to justify it.
I’d try and prove my anxiety right.
When actually…
I didn’t need to do that.
I didn’t need to prove it right or wrong.
I just needed to sit with it, accept that feeling in my body, and know that it’s okay to feel like this in this moment.
Nothing’s wrong.
It’s just my body trying to protect me.
So now, these random feelings of anxiety?
They don’t bother me anymore.
They don’t mean anything…
Because I’m able to just accept and move on.
To continue doing what I was doing—without the need to try and control or avoid it.
I know that these feelings will always pass.
Because I know I’m safe.
Just like
you are safe.
Right now.
