Hey everyone, I’m Andy. I’m an addiction recovery coach based in the UK, and I work with people worldwide via Zoom. This is my first post here, so I just wanted to say hello and briefly share what I do (and who I’m here to help). What is a recovery coach? Recovery coaching is practical, structured support to help you change your relationship with alcohol or drugs — and build a life that makes recovery easier to maintain. I’m not about judgement or “war stories”. I’m about tools, momentum, and doing the next right thing consistently. How it’s different from therapy Coaching is usually more focused on what you do next: routines, relapse prevention, handling urges, rebuilding confidence, and staying accountable week to week. Therapy and coaching can work really well alongside each other. You might benefit from coaching if you: keep stopping and starting (and you’re tired of doing it alone) are in early recovery and want structure + relapse-prevention support feel “functional” on the outside but know alcohol/drugs are costing you want a secular, evidence-based approach (SMART Recovery–informed) want confidential 1:1 support without joining a group If you’re unsure, I wrote a short guide here: https://myrecovery.me/do-i-need-an-addiction-recovery-coach Or you can contact me here: https://myrecovery.me/contacts
