Health anxiety can pull you into a cycle of checking, scanning your body, seeking reassurance, and still never feeling settled. Even when tests are clear, the fear can keep returning, often stronger than before. In this live, therapist-led workshop, psychotherapist Sophie Gordon will guide you through practical, evidence-based skills designed to help you respond differently when health anxiety shows up. The focus isn’t on reassurance or symptom analysis, but on learning how to interrupt the cycle and reduce the grip anxiety has on your day-to-day life. Sophie specialises in trauma, PTSD and anxiety, and is trained in EMDR, ACT and CBT. Her approach centres on taking the “heat” out of anxiety and trauma responses, so people can shift their attention back toward living, rather than constantly monitoring or fighting their thoughts and sensations. She is also passionate about helping people understand anxiety more accurately, as it is so often misunderstood. In this session, you’ll learn: Why health anxiety keeps looping even when nothing is “wrong” How to respond when your body sensations trigger fear Practical skills you can use in the moment to reduce spiralling How to relate to anxious thoughts without getting pulled into them Ways to build confidence in your responses over time This workshop is suitable for anyone experiencing health anxiety who has been medically cleared and wants tools they can use in real life, not just information. The session will be live, with time for guided exercises and questions, and is limited in numbers to keep it supportive and focused.
