Health anxiety is often misunderstood — by others, and sometimes even by ourselves. Many people know the fear feels real, but still wonder whether they’re “missing something,” overreacting, or failing to manage it properly. In this live session, psychotherapist Sophie Gordon will break down what health anxiety actually is. Just as importantly, she’ll clarify what health anxiety isn’t — helping to reduce confusion, self-blame, and unhelpful myths that can keep the cycle going. Sophie specialises in trauma, PTSD and anxiety, and is trained in EMDR, ACT and CBT. Her work focuses on helping people take the intensity out of anxiety responses so they can stop organising their lives around fear and return their attention to living. This session will combine clear explanation with a structured Q&A, giving you space to ask common and general questions about health anxiety — including patterns, behaviours, and fears — while keeping the focus on understanding and skill-building rather than reassurance. In this session, you’ll explore: What health anxiety is, and it differs to Panic disorder How understanding anxiety differently can reduce its power Your questions answered with a non judgemental approach This session is suitable for anyone experiencing health anxiety who has been medically cleared and wants clarity, perspective, and a healthier framework for understanding what they’re experiencing. The session will be live and limited in numbers to keep it supportive and manageable.
