A day ago, I was rushed to the ER after waking up with a brutal, non-stop heart rate of almost 200bpm. I initially thought it was a heart attack, but was later diagnosed with Afib. This was a tough swallow since I already have cardio phobia and this reinforced my fears. I then spent the day (after zero sleep) extremely anxious, having panic attacks that another Afib event would strike, sending me back to the hospital. However, my wife a daughter helped me push through the day until night arrived, which is the hardest for me since I think the most and can feel my heartbeat. So, even though I had a panic attack or two, I managed to make it through the night! Now I can change my focus to coping mechanisms rather than just being in survival mode. Thank you all for so much support and having the bravery to share what you go through as well! And thank you, Peter, for having a space for all of us to share our experiences and grow with one another!
