Alright folks... Well, this agoraphobic has been spiraling the past few months, to the point where I have barely been leaving my house at all. I knew I needed to get my backside out of the house but whenever I go outside the DPDR causes such intense visual disturbances that I haven't been able to deal with it, so I have been hiding at home. I had agreed to take my partner to Chester for a meal, and I have been dreading it for weeks - not because I do not want to do it, but because I know that I would be plagued with panic and all those fun symptoms that make us feel like we are dying. Well, despite trying to find every reason not to go, the guilt from letting my partner (and myself) down was more intense than the panic, so I made myself go. I had to drive for over an hour each way (driving anxiety), eat out (contamination OCD) and engage with human beings (eurgh). I didn't die, pass out or go blind and my partner thinks I am a champ. High 5's all round. Keep going, we can do this!
