Today was emotionally messy, frustrating, activating, exhausting… and still somehow a win 🌿✨ Not because everything got resolved. Not because I stayed perfectly calm. Not because I had all the answers. The win was this: I finally advocated for myself professionally while emotionally activated ⭐️ Historically, my anxiety would usually have pushed me toward silence. I would have minimised my feelings. Internalised the interaction. Told myself I was overreacting. Stayed quiet and just “dealt with it.” And honestly? I’ve done exactly that with this particular dynamic for years. Something shifted today 🌙 I realised I actually respect myself too much to keep normalising communication that leaves me feeling consistently dismissed. I was not being aggressive. I was not avoiding accountability. I was asking for guidance so I could do my role properly and support my team well. That distinction matters 💜 Did I get emotional? Yes. Did I still feel hurt and frustrated? Absolutely. But I also noticed something important: I did not abandon myself just to keep the peace. For people working on anxiety, emotional regulation, people-pleasing, or conflict avoidance, that middle ground can feel incredibly unfamiliar. Not aggression. Not silence. Just grounded self-advocacy 🌱 One thing I’ve been learning recently is to stop measuring progress only by the “big rocks” and start recognising the smaller pebbles along the path ⭐️ Sometimes growth looks like: * saying the uncomfortable thing calmly * holding your boundary without exploding * recognising your own value * trusting your perception a little more * allowing yourself to take up space Tiny pebble. Big nervous system workout ✨ Rooting for you all 🌿💜 PS. I’m also curious if anyone else struggles with this too? How do you personally recognise progress when support, safety, or reassurance existed alongside it? ⭐️ #AnxietyFitness #EmotionalIntelligence #SelfAdvocacy #NervousSystemAwareness #GrowthNotPerfection #SmallWins
