I’m about to face one of the biggest challenges in my anxiety recovery so far. My husband has always been a big safety person for me, and I still struggle with doing things without him. In the past year, the most I’ve managed solo has been a few drives and some walks around the neighborhood. I haven’t even spent time with friends without him, because his presence just makes things feel easier. Today he’s leaving for a weekend trip with his friends, the first since last November. Back then, I crashed hard. I didn’t eat for four days and it was one of the lowest points in my life. But this time is different. I’m in a better place now with more tools, awareness, and confidence. Even though I feel the anxiety symptoms, I keep reminding myself: I can do this. I am safe. He’ll be back before I know it, and this experience will build my strength. These feelings aren’t dangerous, they will pass. I’m determined to turn this into a win and will share updates along the way. 💛
