Today, after years of avoiding public transport due to health anxiety and the fear of losing control, I took a big step. I got on public transport to go to my therapy session. It wasn’t easy. There was a mix of excitement and fear. The what ifs started to creep in: "What if I panic? What if I can’t get out? What if I have to explain what I’m going through to a stranger?" But instead of backing out, I focused on grounding myself. Noticing the cars, the trees, the people through the window. I kept breathing and stayed as present as I could. I made it to the clinic. There was still anxiety lingering, and honestly, it felt a bit unreal that I actually did it — but I did.
