Around this time last year, I fell into what I call my anxiety spiral. I slowly lost my ability to drive, struggled even being in a car, and barely left the house. Panic attacks hit me multiple times a day, my anxiety was constant, and brain fog and DRDP made it impossible to focus. I felt ready to give up, but kept reminding myself, “What if you beat this?” Fast forward to today: I was nervous to hit the one-year mark, worried I’d still be stuck at point A and too dependent on others. But I actually feel much better than I expected. My nervous system has healed so much, my symptoms have eased, and I’ve started to get pieces of my life back, in a new way. I’m not fully out yet, but I am getting better, and for that, I’m so grateful. Below is a photo from when I went kayaking with my mom. I haven’t seen her since December and was actually anxious and avoidant of making plans with her bc of anxiety. But I’m getting better at spotting anxieties lies and had a really good time :)
