Today I visited the MoMA with my partner in the city. I actually have a win from a few months ago visiting this same museum; my symptoms were a lot stronger and heavier a few months ago than today so it felt empowering to realize how far I've come. I wanted to see two news exhibitions (Wifredo Lam & Ruth Asawa if you're interested!) and I did. I was definitely overwhelmed by all the sensory inputs but I think most of that was also excitement to be there. I moved through my discomfort. The museum part was fun, but eating out was a bit tricky. I still find it challenging to eat in public spaces, I just can't find myself to fully relax so I did experience that but I'm glad I still went out to a restaurant and ordered something new. Overall, I am glad to see the progress I've made and the person I was today versus the one a few months ago in the same museum is just a testament of that steady evolution in how I relate to and express my anxiety. 🎨
