Buzzing this morning! Just completed a short run, against intrusive thoughts and as well as dropping a safety behaviour! Today’s target was not to message any friends or family to let them know I was heading out for a run, which I normally do as ‘reassurance’. I was extremely anxious at the prospect of todays run, due to the added layer of footballer, Christen Eriksen having another suspected cardiac arrest on the football pitch the other day. As an avid football/sports fan, whenever I hear of a fit young man or woman having heart related issues it is an immense trigger for me. Neverless, even with those thoughts At the front of my mind, I stuck to my guns and didn’t message anyone. Another safety behaviours dropped! As horrible as it is, I will keep dropping safety behaviours as I am determined to get myself back to the old Charlie pre 2020! It’s not easy, but it is possible. I have found gradually dropping them in stages is the way forward for me personally, starting small and working my way up. I’m not setting myself a time frame anymore and I’m just going with it and accepting 😃
