There is this convenience store that I've passed by many times while driving. It's intrigued me for a while, they have a bunch of 1950s, retro candy and toys and I imagined myself stopping by one day. Today was the day. I was anxious getting into the car and driving there even though it was 5 minutes away. I had to take breaks at times but I was determined to go inside and check out the store. There was nobody inside at first, so I left sort of frantically BUT I chose differently and decided to go back inside and really look and be present and not just rush out. I ended up getting a toy and some candy, and there was someone in the store the second time around who gave me a free paddle ball since it was my first time visiting. I took that as the universe saying "good job" for going outside of my comfort zone. It's the small things that count. I don't think I would've done this a few months ago but again, this community continues to inspire me and make me feel less alone :)
