Anxiety makes it challenging for me to drive in new places. Today I wanted to try to go to a bookstore that I usually go to with my boyfriend but alone. There is a service road that takes me there (I don't like driving on the highway but hoping someday I can get comfortable doing that). Anyways, I'm driving and up to the point of getting onto the service road I full on panicked - heart racing, sweating, and even this urge of wanting to cry. I couldn't make it all the way to the bookstore so I decided to drive back home but I'm proud of myself for even getting onto the service road and driving alone someplace new all while being anxious and feeling the symptoms. This was a huge step for me even though I only drove for like 10 minutes. I must have looked funny to the drivers next to me, shaking and waving my hands trying to shake out the energy. Anyways, I'm proud of myself regardless.
