Today I went to the city to go to this art gallery viewing with my boyfriend. The experience was really lovely and I had so much fun learning about art. I exposed myself to public transit, eating at a new restaurant impromptu, and engaging with people. After the gallery, I was pretty tired and hungry (hence going to a new restaurant), and sometimes I mistake my natural cues for anxiety. Not everything automatically needs to be anxiety or panic and instead of giving in, I did my best to move through the moment. I even ended up walking to see the pigeon statue near the High Line right after my meal which I wouldn't have done. Something kind of poetic is how on the way home, I passed by the same train stop where I had a panic attack in last year but this time I passed right by and went along. Overall, I am very proud of myself and I actually had fun. Slow steady steps.
