I'm usually really confident at the dentist, but my appointments are usually in the morning when my anxiety is lowest. Yesterday the office made a mistake with my appointment, so I had to go back in the evening. I was feeling more anxious than usual and had to get a large filling. I suddenly had quite an irrational fear about my tongue going numb (fueled by some things I learned in my recent first aid course) but I remembered that these are just my anxious thoughts, nothing is going to happen. I had a moment where I considered to ask the dentist to not continue, but I pushed through. In the end it turned out to be as easy as ever, and my tooth is all good now :)
