I have recently been on a trip to Devon and back, totalling around 10 hours being a passenger. We have driven in storm Amy, been on the steapest / narrowest roads I've ever been on and close to edges WITHOUT PANIC, not completely anxiety free but very managable and even though at times I wanted to get out the car, stop and going in the opposite direction of the fear - I sat with it and I continued. This is a great moment of celebration because there was a time where I couldn't even look at a car never mind be in a car without panicking - being in hot sweats, heart pumping and ultimately fearing something really bad happening. The anxiety I experienced around cars followed a car accident, I knew after the accident that I had to continue to be in cars, drive cars etc to overcome the fear (even though so many parts of my mind and body wanted to literally do anything not to be exposed to a car) and Im sharing this because even though it is uncomfortable it really does work!
