I’m not sure if anyone else does this, but I’ve noticed I create these mental “safe zones” for driving in my head. For some reason, one side of the street feels safer than the other, even though there’s no real logic behind it. Maybe it’s the long stoplights that make me feel “stuck,” or the fact that the other road is way busier than the ones I’ve labeled as “easy.” But I also know I won’t get better if I keep letting those barriers control me. So last night, kind of on a whim, I decided to challenge myself. I drove across to the other side of the road and went to the grocery store. Honestly, I hadn’t done that by myself in months. My husband came up with a cute little reward system, every time I drive to the store alone, I get to treat myself to a small plant. 🌱 This trip earned me plant number two in just a couple months! I felt anxious while doing it, but I let the feelings be there and kept going anyway. And that feels like such a win.
