So this time 4 years I was training for my first marathon, having been someone who couldn’t run to the end of the street I was so proud of myself. I completed it! The week after my dad was diagnosed with a brain tumour, after 2 months in hospital we found out it was terminal. I have barely ran since, life was about working, caring for him, studying and just generally making it through. He passed a few months later and I can count on my fingers the runs I’ve been on since then! Today after weeks of promising myself I would get out there I put on my trainers, crossed the road and found 2 white feathers at my feet. I felt like he was on my side supporting me. I did a 20 minute run/walk and it actually felt good to have my heart racing for something other than anxiety for once. Once I got home the sweating did make me anxious, but I just tried to remind myself that it was liked to working out and nothing else. It’s the first thing that hats made me feel good for a few weeks now!
