I went out with my husband today, trying to challenge myself. I felt good at first, but a few minutes from our destination, anxiety hit me like a train with all the common symptoms, tight chest, DPDR, the whole package. I recognized it and decided to push through, trusting it would pass. We walked around the mall for about an hour, then got some food. The food was amazing but sitting at the restaurant felt almost unbearable. I focused on pushing through, stayed present, and reminded myself it was uncomfortable, not dangerous. Next, we went to a reptile zoo. All day, I wanted to bail but kept resisting the urge. Once we got there, the discomfort FINALLY lifted. I could fully enjoy the experience and felt proud for not backing down. It was a tough day, but a huge win for me. :)
