I remember last year going on this exact trail and focusing solely on my heart rate but yesterday I did the same trail and didn't feel that same tug to focus on my heart. Yes, I was out of breath at times but I was more excited by the gorgeous landscape and being in nature than sabotaging that joy by giving into my anxiety. While I was hiking up, I could feel my heart racing a bit and perhaps in some strange way, I had an epiphany that this is just me living fully in my body, fully being as I am, breathless and all. I'm very proud of myself and couldn't have done this without this group, it's been a long journey but feeling less alone has motivated me so much. Also this is my dog Mochi next to the fall foliage 🐶
