Hey guys! So I have found writing to be very therapeutic and helpful in my journey dealing with anxiety. The more I write, the more at peace I feel! I wanted to share a poem I wrote about anxiety - I am sure the feelings may resonate with many of you! Relentless Like the wheels of a wall clock, That sputter and clutter nonstop - Relentlessly pushing forward, Never halting. Never stopping. Thoughts tangled, ever weaving - Never ceasing, never ending, Always cycling and rewinding, Heavily knocking at the front door. The clock ticks steadily onward - Never ceasing, spinning forward. Thoughts forever running wild, Racing more, and more, and more. A vicious cycle, never-ending, Spinning mind and body, aching. You give in to what it's saying: “You can’t take this anymore.” Don't resist it - the persistence. It’s not worth what’s in store. Try to cage it, try to drown it - You’ll collapse onto the floor. Always with you - latching, scratching, Like a parasite - infecting. Invading, endlessly craving, Wanting more, and more, and more. You end up ceasing battle, Surrender - nerves unraveled. It looks at you and scowls - You already know the score. There’s no point, my friend. You’ve already waged this war. Once again, it won the battle - And left you broken, bruised and worn.
