Last night I had one of the hardest nights with anxiety I’ve ever had. It started with severe acid reflux and chest discomfort and pain, and it turned into hours of panic, shallow breathing, and worrying something was seriously wrong with me. I kept turning and twisting, feeling like I was failing because I couldn’t calm down or fall asleep “like I should.” I took my medication and tried everything—sitting up, sipping cold milk, breathing—but my mind just wouldn’t settle. At one point, I remembered something important: how much I was "resisting" the feelings and adding fuel to the fire instead of letting myself feel it. In the end, that’s what helped me most, just accepting that it was happening without fighting it. Eventually, I managed to get about few hours of sleep after 6am. I woke up shaky and exhausted, but still here, still safe.
