If anxiety or panic has ever made meeting new people, socialising, travelling, going out, or simply doing normal everyday things feel harder than they should, this meetup is for you.

Join Peter from Anxiety Fitness and BABCP-accredited CBT psychotherapist Fiori Lekkai for a relaxed afternoon with other people who understand what it's like to live with anxiety and panic.

This is a chance to meet people who get it, hear honest and practical insights about anxiety and recovery, ask questions, and spend some time together in a relaxed setting.

What to expect:

We'll start with some time to arrive, grab a coffee and settle in before Peter and Fiori share a couple of short talks.

Peter will talk from lived experience, sharing what he learned through his own recovery from severe anxiety, panic and agoraphobia — including the things that helped, the things that didn't, and what recovery can actually look like in real life.

Fiori will bring the clinical perspective, drawing on her experience as a BABCP-accredited CBT psychotherapist. She'll explore how anxiety and panic work, why we can sometimes get stuck trying to control or avoid anxiety, and what can help us start doing things differently.

We'll then have a live Q&A, giving you the opportunity to ask questions about anxiety, panic and recovery.

After the talks and Q&A, we'll have plenty of time to eat, have a coffee and chat with other attendees.

You don't need to be "good at socialising"

We know that coming to a meetup for people with anxiety can feel like a pretty big ask in itself.

You don't need to be outgoing.

You don't need to come with a friend.

You don't have to introduce yourself to everyone or talk the entire time.

You can come on your own, take your time, listen, chat when you feel comfortable and simply be around people who understand.

There'll be no pressure to participate in anything you're not comfortable with.

This meetup is for anyone who experiences anxiety or panic and would like to:

Feel less alone in their experience of anxiety
Hear honest perspectives on anxiety and recovery
Learn more about how anxiety and panic work

Have a coffee, some food and a relaxed afternoon with people who "get it"

Whether you've been dealing with anxiety for years or you're relatively new to it, you're welcome.

A small and relaxed meetup

We're keeping this event intentionally small, with just 25 places available.

The aim isn't to create a huge networking event. It's to create a comfortable environment where you can actually meet people and have conversations.

We'll also have some optional conversation prompts to make things easier if you're not sure what to say when you arrive.
