Anxiety and ADHD: The Jobs Anxiety Ends Up Doing

What if anxiety is not just a problem, but also a way to keep life moving? For some of us, anxiety ends up doing much more than worrying. It keeps things on the mental radar. It creates enough urgency to get started when a deadline is looming. It pushes us to prepare. It tries to stop mistakes happening. It tries to stop us being caught out or letting people down. That can make the relationship between ADHD and anxiety more complicated than it first appears. This workshop explores why ADHD and anxiety so often become tangled together, the jobs anxiety can end up doing, and what happens when the coping strategies we've relied on for years begin to creak under the strain. Together we'll explore: Why ADHD and anxiety often travel together The jobs anxiety can end up doing What happens when coping strategies stop working Why letting go of anxiety can sometimes feel frightening The question that often sits underneath many worries: "Am I going to be okay?" This workshop may resonate if you've ever found yourself thinking: "If I stop worrying about it, I'll forget it." "I know exactly what to do, I just don't do it." "I can't switch off because there might be something I've forgotten." "Everything works until it suddenly doesn't." Bring your questions. There'll be space to explore how these ideas show up in real life and what they might mean for you.

Cardiophobia Masterclass: Step‑by‑Step Tools for Heart‑Focused Anxiety

Do you live in fear of your heart—constantly checking your pulse, monitoring every flutter, and worrying that doctors have “missed something”? This masterclass is a practical, step‑by‑step deep dive into working with cardiophobia (heart‑focused anxiety). In this 60‑minute live workshop, therapist Haley Ostrow, LCSW, will cover: ✔ A quick recap: what cardiophobia is and why it feels so convincing ✔ How symptoms like PVCs, ectopic beats, and palpitations interact with anxiety ✔ The most common fear loops (checking, Googling, seeking reassurance, avoiding activity) ✔ Evidence-based strategies to respond to scary heart sensations in real time ✔ How to reduce checking and avoidance without feeling reckless ✔ How to safely rebuild trust in your body and daily life You’ll also get: ✔ A structured, step‑by‑step framework for practicing these tools ✔ Q&A time where Haley answers pre‑submitted and live questions about cardiophobia (within general educational limits, not personal medical advice) This class is for you if you already know or strongly suspect you have cardiophobia and want clear, concrete strategies—not just reassurance—to help you move forward.

Coffee & conversation in London for people with anxiety & panic

If anxiety or panic has ever made meeting new people, socialising, travelling, going out, or simply doing normal everyday things feel harder than they should, this meetup is for you. Join Peter from Anxiety Fitness and BABCP-accredited CBT psychotherapist Fiori Lekkai for a relaxed afternoon with other people who understand what it's like to live with anxiety and panic. This is a chance to meet people who get it, hear honest and practical insights about anxiety and recovery, ask questions, and spend some time together in a relaxed setting. What to expect: We'll start with some time to arrive, grab a coffee and settle in before Peter and Fiori share a couple of short talks. Peter will talk from lived experience, sharing what he learned through his own recovery from severe anxiety, panic and agoraphobia — including the things that helped, the things that didn't, and what recovery can actually look like in real life. Fiori will bring the clinical perspective, drawing on her experience as a BABCP-accredited CBT psychotherapist. She'll explore how anxiety and panic work, why we can sometimes get stuck trying to control or avoid anxiety, and what can help us start doing things differently. We'll then have a live Q&A, giving you the opportunity to ask questions about anxiety, panic and recovery. After the talks and Q&A, we'll have plenty of time to eat, have a coffee and chat with other attendees. You don't need to be "good at socialising" We know that coming to a meetup for people with anxiety can feel like a pretty big ask in itself. You don't need to be outgoing. You don't need to come with a friend. You don't have to introduce yourself to everyone or talk the entire time. You can come on your own, take your time, listen, chat when you feel comfortable and simply be around people who understand. There'll be no pressure to participate in anything you're not comfortable with. Who is this for? This meetup is for anyone who experiences anxiety or panic and would like to: Meet other people who understand what they're going through Feel less alone in their experience of anxiety Hear honest perspectives on anxiety and recovery Learn more about how anxiety and panic work Ask questions in a supportive environment Get out and do something despite anxiety Have a coffee, some food and a relaxed afternoon with people who "get it" Whether you've been dealing with anxiety for years or you're relatively new to it, you're welcome. A small and relaxed meetup We're keeping this event intentionally small, with just 25 places available. The aim isn't to create a huge networking event. It's to create a comfortable environment where you can actually meet people and have conversations. We'll also have some optional conversation prompts to make things easier if you're not sure what to say when you arrive. What's included? Your ticket includes food and a drink from BloomsYard's menu (Details & options will be added soon) 🎤 Talks from Peter and Fiori ❓ Live Q&A 🤝 Time to meet and chat with other attendees ❤️ A relaxed, anxiety-friendly environment Dietary requirements: vegan and vegetarian options are available. Tell us when you book and we'll arrange it with the venue in advance. With your ticket, the following options are available: Choice of one hot drink per person (coffee or well-being tea) Choice of one of the below: -Ham and Cheese Bagel -Salmon and cream cheese Bagel -Egg mayo and rocket bloomer -Coronation chicken bloomer -Tuna melt bloomer -Roasted Veg, rocket and red pepper houmous Bloomer (PB) Choice of one of the below: -Sour cherry oat cookie (PB) -Chocolate chip cookie (PB) -Brownie slice (GF) The details: 📍 London 📅 Saturday, 5th December 2026 ⏰ 11:30pm–2:30pm 🎟️ £24.99 👥 Limited to 25 people Come on your own or bring a friend.
